Telc B1 or Telc Zertifikat Deutsch B1 is a degree issued by Telc that attests that a taker has skills at B1 level in German within the CECR framework. B1 level is required by the German authorities to gain access to citizenship and visas as well as access to professions. Telc B1 is similar to DTZ but more balanced across language skill dimensions.

- To pass Telc B1, candidates must achieve at least 180 points.
- To pass the exam, candidates must achieve at least 60% of the maximum possible score in both the Written and Oral exams. This corresponds to 135 points in the Written exam and 45 points in the Oral exam.
- Compared to the DTZ, which focuses on oral expression, the telc B1 is an exam that assesses the various language competencies in a balanced way.
